Now that I know what an ISO is for, I would like to know what use can be made of DVD folders. Why make a DVD folder?
Thanks,
D

A DVD folder can be played directly with a software DVD player, to test your disc before actually burning it. With PowerDVD, for example, start the program and then drag the DVD folder (VIDEO_TS) into the main window. PowerDVD will open the folder as if it was a DVD, and you can test the menus, etc., to make sure everything is working.

DVD burning programs can burn the DVD folder directly to a disc, but generally it's safer to create a disc image (ISO) and use "burn image", since this will ensure that the files are recorded in the correct sequence.
