I have finished demuxing a cartoon DVD that I am working on. I sent the video stream into Tmpg to have it reencoded so that it will fit onto a DVD. These are the settings that I used:

source-120 mins NTSC

2 pass VBR
max-8000...I got this number from your calculator
avg-3450...I got this number from your calculator
min-0

The video stream ended up being about 3 gigs only. Is there suppose to be this much space left? Does it need to be closer to 4.7? What should my targeted size be then to have enough room for the audio tracks?

Or I have to wait since the audio (2 tracks-178 and 165) has not been remuxed with the video yet in Ifoedit to get its final size?

Thanks

The calculator shows the projected size for the video and audio files, plus the remaining space (look in the bottom right). If you're going to use uncompressed audio (PCM, 48 KHz, 16 bits), this adds up to 1318 MB which, added to the 3 GB of video, makes up a total of 4.3 GB, which is the actual size of a 4.7 GB recordable DVD.

If you're going to use compressed sound (MPA, AC3 or DTS), enter the bitrate in the appropriate field. If you already have the audio tracks, check their bitrate, add them together (ex., 2 x 192 = 384 Kb/s) and enter that value in the custom audio bitrate field).
