What do you all think of Canopus Procoder? I already own the software and I was wondering where does it stand with the other encoders. So far it has been the best software encoder to use, not fast though (for MPEG2) and it performs EXCELLENT standard conversion (PAL <==> NTSC).

If you use it do you have any ideal settings for best results?

I've never used Procoder, but assuming it uses more or less the same encoder as Canopus SoftMPEG, the quality is pretty good, and it's not too slow, but it doesn't give much control over the settings. I would say it's more or less equivalent to Ligos LSX in terms of quality (slightly inferior to TMPGEnc and CinemaCraft). But this was some time ago, they may have improved it since.
