Hi

I am using the settings recommended in the guide on this site.

In my captured avi from a analog source there is a scene with a pan from right to left which does not playback smooth Crying or Very sad on my panasonic dvd player. Other scenes without pan are good Smile .

I follow also the gop settings from the bitrate calculator. (DVD 4.37, 90 Minutes, 192 KBits Audio).

Any recommendations?

Thank you very much for any help?

Regards

Thomas

The most likely cause is an incorrect interlacing order. Try reversing the field order (in the "advanced") tab of TMPGEnc, and re-encode. If your source is analog, the correct field order is probably "top first", but this depends on the capture card, and some analog capture cards may use "bottom first".

Note that interlacing problems are only detectable on interlaced displays (i.e., TV sets and video monitors), not on PC screens. Until you're sure you have all the settings right, use RW discs and short clips (that way you save time and money).
