I'm not sure if this is the right category to post this, but here goes.

I just used ReelDVD to multiplex a MPEG-2 elementary stream and a 384 Kb/s AC3 stream, and as it turns out the audio is out of sync (about 500ms).

Is there an easy way to delay the AC3 audio to get it back in sync with the video?

I've lots of experience working with WAV-files and just about every other sound format, but I'm a bit of a newbee when it comes to AC3.
I could of course decompress the AC3-file to a WAV, make the necessary corrections and reencode it, but there has to be another way...?

Ah, it's always a good idea to play around a bit before posting - I just discovered that ReelDVD has an audio offset feature. It wasn't very well hidden either Wink

I'd still like to hear about other ways and tools to do this, though...

Here is a link to a nice freeware program called AC3 Delay Corrector.
It will add or subtract delay in AC3 thru the use of positive or negative entries in it's provided little boxes. I've used it and had great results.

Also if you're using an MPEG2 video file and an AC3 audio file first try feeding them into TMPGenc DVD Author as seperate sources and use a software DVD player on your PC to test the resulting DVD file before trying to manually adjust the delay with AC3 Delay Corrector.

I hope this helps.
