OK, DVDhelp bulletin board suggests using TMPGenc for AVI to DVD, However, when I browse to open .avi file, says format not supported.
I have an AVI file (about 1gig) I want to DVD-5-ize. Nero recode says it can't compress enuf with its' built-in tools - any suggestions?
TIA

Weird!
What are the details of this AVI file please?
Can you look in Properties & post back with it's framerate etc.
Maybe you will need to open it in an NLE such as PrPro. _________________ www.opusproductions.com

Are you trying to open the AVI file with the "open source" button (bottom right), or are you perhaps trying to open the AVI file with the "open project" option in the "File" menu?
The latter is for opening TMPGEnc project files, not to import source (video) files.
