Ah, that's new, then. The basic version only used to allow single-pass encoding. Well, the big jump in optimisation is from single to double-pass, so the final results should be almost identical.

Yeah, I think the change came about when CinemaCraft altered its basic offering. It used to be called CinemaCraft Lite; now it's called CinemaCraft Basic. It confused the heck out of me for a while because I kept on reading references to "Lite" and yet could not find it anywhere.
