Given I have the choice of both TMPG Enc Plus 2.5.whateveritis and TMPG Enc Xpress 3.4.whateverthatis, what one of the two provides the better results please?
I keep thinking that the earlier encoder looks better to me - is this right? _________________ www.opusproductions.com

I've only looked at Xpress briefly, back when it was released, and I got the same impression. A few people I know agree, and a few say they are equally good, but so far I haven't met anyone who thought Xpress has better quality (it's just better at handling DirectShow files).

The good news is that I'm not slipping into my dotage yet then!
Appreciate the info.
I always kept 2.5 plus installed even after buying the new one, as it is AFAIK the only external MPEG encoder that can do the stills for Jacket pictures too. _________________ www.opusproductions.com
